Sensor Arrangement in Monostatic Subsurface Radar Imaging

چکیده

This article deals with microwave subsurface imaging achieved by inverting the linearized scattering operator. The focus is on determination of a strategy for spatially sampling data which allows to reduce spatial measurements and at same time keep achievable performance in reconstructions. To this end, measurement points are determined order approximate point-spread function corresponding ideal continuous case (i.e., space not sampled all). For sake simplicity, study developed 2D scalar configuration. Also, standard mono-static arrangement considered. However, mimic scenario, two-layered background medium addressed. main idea introduce suitable variable transformations allow express functions as Fourier-like transformation; then provides insights devising scheme. It shown resulting positions must be non-uniformly arranged across domain their number can much lower than one provided some commonly used literature criteria.

Subsurface Imaging using Ground-Penetrating Radar Measurements

Much work has been done toward reconstructing the electrical parameters of an unknown buried object. Many methods, and accompanying results from simulations, have been presented. Most research in the area, however, has been in developing imaging algorithms that have been tested primarily through computer simulation. This paper presents a newly constructed facility for ground-penetrating radar e...

Compressive sensing for subsurface imaging using ground penetrating radar

The theory of compressive sensing (CS) enables the reconstruction of sparse signals from a small set of non-adaptive linear measurements by solving a convex ‘1 minimization problem. This paper presents a novel data acquisition system for wideband synthetic aperture imaging based on CS by exploiting sparseness of pointlike targets in the image space. Instead of measuring sensor returns by sampli...

Capon-Based Single-Snapshot DOA Estimation in Monostatic MIMO Radar

We consider the problem of single snapshot direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation of multiple targets in monostatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar. When only a single snapshot is used, the sample covariance matrix of the data becomes non-invertible and, therefore, does not permit application of Capon-based DOA estimation techniques. On the other hand, low-resolution techniques, such...
